I help students feel more confident in math and want to help you do the same for your child.
My name is Tricia Opdahl and I really enjoy doing math! Before starting my 20-year detour into the homeschooling world, I worked as a systems engineer in the space industry where I enjoyed working alongside many brilliant people on some very cool and very helpful projects. Since then, I have spent the last two decades educating my own children from square one through high school. I have successfully sent one off to college and the next will soon follow. Fly my little birds, fly!
In addition to teaching my own children, I have also invested in the local homeschooling community over the years, teaching numerous co-op classes ranging from science labs to current events. Several years ago, I began accepting students from both the homeschooling community and the local school district for private math tutoring, focusing on middle school and high school. I also now teach complete courses in geometry and algebra 2 to small groups of local homeschoolers.
My journey in the homeschooling world has been both interesting and educational! Along the way, I’ve learned a bit about helping students understand and feel more confident with math. I’ve also noticed some common struggles among many of my students. My goal is to share some of what I’ve learned with you, so that you can feel empowered to support your child in their mathematical endeavors.
From one parent to another, you can help your child feel more confident, motivated, and successful in math.
